Our Story

In 2008, our family made a change of scenery from the attractive region of New England to the beautiful Tennessee Valley, nestled between Knoxville and Chattanooga.
I (Tim) worked in construction building houses and developing industrial and residential land in Massachusetts.  Additionally, my wife and I owned and operated our multi-generational family Inn and Conference Center, while home-educating our two sons.  Life was full and frantic!

With the cost of living skyrocketing, the food industry lacking integrity, and the strength of the family declining, we decided to adjust our quality and pace of living and focus on family and farming, while working in construction part-time.

With many goals in mind, we packed up our belongings and headed south.  By the grace of God, we ‘stumbled’ upon a piece of land with 23 acres of wood and pasture, along with a stream, a barn, and a salt pool, but no house.

In the hot Tennessee summer of 2009, the boys and I, with the help of my nephews, framed our own home. Now we were able to begin our journey on the farm and produce our own food.

Eventually, we planted fruit trees, berry bushes, and a vegetable garden. Although each tree and bush is still very young, it will be only a few years before it's time to harvest the fruit.  Additionally, we have prepared pasture for our cattle and paddocks for our hogs.

Next we, (or should I say . . . my son) built an egg-mobile, and we then purchased some laying hens.  Our farm was now taking shape.  How exciting it was when we received our first egg!  In the summer of 2010, we (again . . . my son) built a large brooder and a chicken tractor, and we then purchased our first 100 broilers.  After 8 weeks of meticulously care by our son, we had our first batch of broilers ready for processing.

Waking at 4:30am , we drove 5 1/2 hours to a USDA processing facility. Everything went great!  We now had two refrigerators packed full of broilers, our first 5 customers waiting for their chickens, and plenty of chickens to sell.

Everything we have, whether animals, food, health, talent, or ambition, is from the Father above.  He is our highest Source.  Therefore it is our aim to give the highest quality in all that we endeavor.  Please stroll over to the farm for a look around. We look forward to meeting and serving you.

For His glory,

Tim, Charleen, Evan, and Tyler Cnossen
